Art After Dark returned to the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum who partnered with McConnell's for an "Ice Cream Social" theme just perfect for a warm summer night in San Luis Obispo.

Many joined us on Friday, August 2nd for some of the finest railroad-themed art and enjoy ice cream from McConnell's of Santa Barbara, who've opened a new ice cream parlor in San Luis Obispo. Inside, visitors viewed the art and all of the museum displays including the fabulous HO scale model railroad. Then stepped outside to find McConnell's "Big Blue" mobile ice-cream truck parked in front. Visitors tasted the free samples from their extensive selection of mouth-watering flavors (and full-serving portions were available for purchase). Ice cream and art made the perfect "dessert" for a warm summer evening.

This was part of Arts Obispo's Art After Dark program.

Artists on display included: Dennis Gisler, Jonathan Haile, Glen Matteson, Jeff Perry, Joan Sullivan Brent MacGregor and Alan Upshaw. There was also an "old fashioned" 35mm photo slide show from David Weisman. Jamie Foster and Phil Loarie made use of large screen video projection for both photography and experimental video art - a feature not seen in many traditional galleries.

Press release.
